Think of availability as an intersection

Wix does not read one master opening-hours setting. It continuously combines several schedules, limits and policies. A slot is shown only when all required conditions overlap.

  • The appointment service is enabled for online booking.
  • The service's own date, day and hour limits allow the time.
  • At least one assigned staff member is working and not blocked.
  • Any required room or equipment is available.
  • The service duration and buffer fit inside the available period.
  • The slot interval permits that start time.
  • The booking window and other policies permit booking now.
  • Existing bookings and synced-calendar events do not create a conflict.

Service hours and staff hours do different jobs

Service availability limits define when a particular appointment may be offered. Staff working hours define when a person can provide work. Wix requires both to be available; a service limit does not extend a staff member's day.

Use Preview Availability before changing several settings

Wix's native Preview Availability view shows the resulting times after staff, resources and service limits are combined. Use it after each change so you can identify which layer is affecting the result.

Use Wix

Wix now handles this natively

For appointment-service date, day and time limits, use Wix's native service availability settings. We do not recommend installing a product from The Fox's Cache for a capability Wix now provides adequately.

Use native Wix when

  • You need to limit an appointment to particular dates, weekdays or hours.
  • You want staff hours and service hours to remain separate.
  • You need to preview the actual resulting bookable slots.
